The ability to find who we truly are and what we are is one of the human characteristics that is vastly underrated š§š»āāļøšš§
My Lovelies,
I personally believe that an integral part of this journey of being human is a desire to fit in. Its the innate human desire want to know that you belong somewhere/place where you are safe to be 100% yourself... curves, edges, quirks, and all.
This quote came about when I was feeling that way. I was in a moment where all I wanted was to remind myself that I have indeed found people like me, "Dark Faes" as I call them. Fun Fact: you'll learn through my quotes and poems that I reference Dark Faes a lot as Maleficent has become my all-time favorite Disney movie/Villain. For me, Dark Faes represent anyone who stands out or who defies society's definition of "normal". I reference myself as a Dark Fae quite a bit in my works for this reason and that is because i've never felt I "fit in" or fit society's idea of "normal" (you'll also learn that this pattern in my writing as we journey together). This quote in particular was a moment where I wanted to reflect on these specific feelings... the feelings of wanting to know I too belonged somewhere.
For many reasons I've felt this way throughout my life's journey; however, with this quote I remember those people with whom i've made special connections with and who are in fact like me. Those that have let me know "Hey, you're one of us. You're loved, validated, and welcome here". For anyone who's also felt different, anyone who's also felt like an outsider, anyone who has also felt like a "Dark Fae" of sorts... this is a reminder for all of us that there are other people like us out there and life has a way of crossing our paths with each other when we most need it.
I hope this quote inspires you to have hope and embrace your "differences" and your "uniqueness". Remember, no one has ever actually defined "normal" as "normal" is only in the eyes of the beholder...As grandma Aggie from Halloweentown once said "being normal is VASTLY overrated anyway" (IYKYK, LOL).
Much Love my Lovelies,
XOXO Isabelle ā¤ļøš XOXO
