My Lovelies ❤️😘,
Isabelle here! To those who have recently subscribed or recently started following to PawzandProse.blog, please receive a warm welcome on behalf of Athena and me! We hope you enjoy our content as well as your experience on our site. To those returning subscribers who have been following our journey for a while and have showered us with love and support, welcome back! I have to say that this part of the week is one I highly look forward to as I get to share so many new experiences with all of you and now, with our revamp from "SimplyAthena" to PawzandProse, I get the opportunity to share even more of what’s in my heart and mind with you. I owe all of you a big “thank you” for giving me this wonderful opportunity to work towards my dream of being able to make the art of the written word a more prominent part of my day-to-day life. Speaking of reaching our goals and our dreams, this is a wonderful segway to the topic that I would like to discuss with you this week. I want to take this opportunity to share my experience with creating this blog as well as my experience with working towards something that means a great deal to me (pardon in advance if I have already shared this with you, but I feel it important to share it once again, especially during this discussion). Let’s talk about where I got my love for writing/poetry. The Isabelle you see expressed here on this platform was born from her paternal side of the family. Yes, it was through my grandmother on my father’s side that I got my passion for writing. It is the fact that my grandmother had an innate love for writing, but that she never worked towards becoming a published author/poet, that inspired me to change that narrative. When I started realizing my deep love for writing, it made me think about how she must’ve felt back in her day writing her acrostics and other poems. She most definitely had the love and talent to pursue it as a career but never did… just like me; however, I decided I wanted to do something very different from my grandma. In her honor, I wanted to use my passion to push myself toward making this “gift”/ “talent” something bigger and better than myself. To display it to the world and when asked about my motivation to be able to mention her name and her gift passed down to me. Now, how does this tangent fit into today’s topic? In order to answer that question, we need to push forward and talk about the Isabelle you are reading here today…
With this fire in my heart and mind to become a published author/poet I decided that a good way to start on that journey would be to start this blog. As I mentioned at the beginning, this blog was solely going to be focused on my adventures as a first-time “pawrent” to Athena (which is why it was originally named “SimplyAthena”); however, it was only a few months ago that I decided to make this venture grow and expand the brand, and its playing field, to include more of my life (i.e., to also include more of my own personal thoughts, reflections, and adventures). To the point, with “SimplyAthena” and now PawzandProse.blog, this venture has been a little over a year in the making. Am I “well-known” or “famous”? No, I am not… not even close to it; however, it is with this story and my personal experience that I want to inspire you to keep pushing and working toward your own dreams and goals... whatever that may look like to you. I also want to send out a gentle but loud/clear reminder that dreams take time to accomplish. The waiting period can be tedious and frustrating causing us to want to give up, but we must remember that everything worth reaching is worth working towards and fighting for. What has been helping me tremendously lately to push forward has been witnessing friends who have been hard at work for YEARS towards their dreams seeing them coming to fruition. I see the joy on their faces as all those hours of blood, sweat, and tears bear fruit and bring to life what they had always had growing in their heart. It’s these prime examples in my life that motivate me to keep pushing week by week with my blog. It is those examples that allow me to say “Dang, if they can do it, HECK, so can I. It is a matter of patience and hard work!”
I repeat, do I have a HUGE following? No (*important sidenote here: please know that I am ETERNALLY grateful to every one of you, the followers I do have, as you are also my motivation and my glimmer of hope that our online family can only grow from here). Am I well-known? No. Do I know how long this dream will take to be complete (or even if it will ever come to pass for that matter)? No. The beautiful thing about each “no” that I just mentioned is that they all add more fuel to my fire. More fuel to keep going, push myself even harder, and further to take the next step needed to make this happen. Let this brief discussion and collection of tangents on my behalf be a reminder to each of you, my loves, to not think about timelines. We dream of our goals and happy endings for weeks, months, and many times years on end, and, like anything else in life, to manifest them is also going to take time. It is going to take time while walking a certain road with determination and discipline to make those dreams come to fruition. Don’t think about how long it’s been for that is the mistake that many people who quit make. They think that it’s taken too long and that, at a certain point, it’s no longer going to happen. Instead, think about how far you’ve gotten and how many steps you’ve taken from the starting line, no matter how big or small, to make your dream a reality. If no one’s told you lately, if you can dream it, you CAN make it happen. Trust yourself, your mind, and your heart, and watch as your hours of work begin to bear fruit. Be patient and loving with yourself as you trust the process.
Until the next one my Loves,
XOXO Isabelle ❤️😘 XOXO
