*Athena's Corner*: Cheers to Two Years: My Second Birthday Paw-ty!

Athena here! It’s so lovely to be back with you all. I know, I know… Mommy’s been hogging up the blog, and I’ve been MIA (sorry about that 🤣😅). Although I haven’t been at the forefront of the blog for a bit, I’ve always been behind the scenes, sniffing out opportunities to come back to you all with more adventures and fun 😃. Well, I’m happy to announce that I’ve found something exciting to share with you, and that is that yours truly has turned 2!!! That’s right, furends; I was born on October 27th, 2022. It’s almost crazy to think that I’ve been with my hoomans for over a year (my gotcha day is December 29th, 2022) and have been alive for 2! Gosh, I truly am my mommy’s daughter, as now she’s got ME going off on tangents on here. Anyway, I wanted to share with you how my hoomans and I spent this very special day… let’s begin!

I can say that on the ENTIRE day, I was showered with so much love from Mommy, Grandma, and Grandpa, and it was absolutely AWESOME. I woke up to my family singing me “Happy Birthday” over and over again. They kept telling me how I am their “goodest” girl, how they love me, and how they wished me a very special and amazing second birthday. In the afternoon, my hooman’s made sure that they did not let this day pass without me having a VERY special treato! You see, without me knowing, mommy searched for bakeries that make doggo-safe birthday treatos that would add a little extra sweetness/flavor to my day without irritating my tummy. They put me in the car with a funny doggo birthday hat Ahem I was not a big fan of that, and to be honest… I kept taking it off my head, but Mommy insisted I wear it so people would know it was my birthday Ahem, and they put me in the car. Once we arrived at the location and after a few nice strangers wished me a Happy Birthday after seeing my hat, Mommy walked me to the bakery. I was super happy knowing that I was going to be coming out of there with treatos I don’t normally have, and I was REALLY looking forward to something sweet and yummy!

There were so many treatos and toys there, furends it was overwhelming! I was sniffing all over the place, and all look so fun and yummy! The nice lady there helped my mommy pick me out a four-pack of doggo birthday cupcakes made from pumpkin with cream cheese frosting, as well as an edible doggo birthday card made from spuds and bacon. As my family had lunch, they tried giving me some of my birthday card but, again, I wasn’t a big fan. Mommy said it was ok to not eat it; however, when it came to my birthday cupcake… boy, was that a hit! The frosting was delicious, and I ate the entire cupcake in the blink of an eye 4 Paws Up Thank you, Mommy ❤️.

After some delicious snacks and a brief but great walk, there was another surprise waiting for me. My hoomans took me to the dog park so that I could spend a little bit of my special day around other doggos! I couldn’t believe how busy the park was on a Sunday at 3:30 PM! I had so many furends around that it was hard to pick who to play with! I had so much fun running around, being outdoors, and playing that the hour and a half we were there went by in no time! Before I knew it, it was time to go back home to rest.

All in all, this second birthday was a day to be beat! I’m so happy to have had a day full of love, sweets, and furends, and I absolutely can’t wait to see what birthday number three will have in store for me. Shh don’t tell that to my Mommy, though, as she’s already freaking out that I’m aging so fast, she can’t believe I’m two this fast… LOL.
